Install Slack
An organization admin installs the Slack app and maps channels to Cassis projects. No server configuration is required.
- Open Settings → Slack and choose Add to Slack.
- Approve Slack’s OAuth consent screen.
- Under Channel bindings, pick a channel and a project, then choose Add binding. Each channel answers from one project.
- Invite the Cassis bot into each mapped channel.
| Channel | Cassis project | |
|---|---|---|
| #data-questions | Online shop | ✕ |
| #sales | Online shop | ✕ |
The bot responds only when mentioned. A channel without a project mapping cannot answer questions.
Give a teammate access
Slack users are matched to verified Cassis accounts by email. When someone without an account mentions the bot, Cassis asks an admin in the channel to approve account creation. After approval, it creates the account and answers the original question.
Accounts approved this way are Editors, so they can change the context. Change the role under Settings → Users if the teammate should only ask.
Uninstall from the same settings page. Cassis revokes the bot token and keeps the channel mappings for a later reinstall.
See Ask in Slack for the user workflow.
