# Create your project

Give Cassis the table definitions behind your question. A DDL file is enough to begin.

Sign in to [your organization](https://app.getcassis.com/) as an Admin.

## Prepare your schema

If you have a `.sql` or `.ddl` schema export, use it. Otherwise, ask your coding agent:

**Prompt for an agent: Prepare my table definitions**

```text
Prepare a DDL schema file for <table names> in <PostgreSQL, Snowflake or BigQuery>.
Use an existing export if available, or give me the read-only export command to run. Save the complete table definitions, without data rows, in first-context.sql.
```

**Export commands and supported formats**

The [DDL guide](/setup/disconnected/#export-your-tables) shows the warehouse-specific export commands. Use current table definitions, rather than a history of migrations. Keep dbt models, business definitions and trusted queries for the next step.

## Create the project

1. Open the project switcher and choose **Create new project**. In an empty organization, choose **Create project** on the start page.
2. Name the project. Under **Data source**, choose **DDL file**, enter a data source name, choose the SQL dialect and upload your file.
3. Choose **Create project**. On **Schema**, check that your tables and columns are present.

With a DDL file, Cassis generates SQL for your own tools to execute. If read-only warehouse access is ready, choose **Connection** instead and [connect the warehouse](/setup/warehouse/) so Cassis can run the SQL.

**A table is missing or the import fails**

Check the table named in the error and its DDL. After correcting the file, use **Update from DDL…** on Schema. With a connection, check the database user’s access and use **Sync from warehouse**.
